A Massage Therapy treatment can include multiple techniques and skills by the therapist to work on your treatment goals. Massage Therapy also works well with a lot of other treatments provided by other health professionals like a Chiropractor, Physiotherapist, Naturopath, and so many more.
Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST)
30, 45, 60, 75 or 90 Minutes
Fascial Stretch Therapy™ (FST) can be done in a 90, 75, 60, 45 or 30 minute session as a way to help relieve tense, sore, and overworked muscles. Whether from working out or the stressors of your day-to-day, these sessions can help you stand taller, and move through life less burdened.
What is Fascia and FST: Your fascia is a form of connective tissue that surrounds your entire body like a net. It surrounds every muscle fiber, muscle belly, your nerves and organs, and connects your toes all the way up to your head.
Fascial Stretch Therapy is a form of manual stretching that takes your body into all different ranges of motion. This can decrease pain, improve range of motion, increase your blood circulation, and leave you feeling lighter and rejuvenated.
Your body is meant to move! And during so much of our day we don’t move enough or in the correct way, FST can get you moving! Your body deserves this tension relieving technique.
Rock Tape
15 Minutes
RockTape microscopically lifts the skin away from the muscles and fascia below, creating a decompressive effect. It can be used to treat sports and non-sports injuries, including shin splints, plantar fasciitis, runner’s knee and pain caused by poor posture. This kinesiology tape relieves swelling through decompression which speeds recovery and increases awareness of your body position to help you maintain proper posture and form.
IATSM / RockBlades
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is the used of a tool or other device rather then your hands. This can save the therapists hands and also has some great benefits. The tool has the ability to grip the skin and tissues to allow for a gliding motion to occur between the layers of your muscle and fascia. This can help with circulation, pain and mobility.

Hi, my name is Lucy. I am a graduate from the registered massage therapy program at Georgian College and I am excited to be starting my massage therapy journey working at Thrive Health and Athletics. During my time as a student therapist I’ve had experience performing general therapeutic massage, as well as treating those looking for more specific treatment including sports injury, pregnancy massage, lymph drainage and fibromyalgia. I love helping people to feel their best and I am always overjoyed at the excitement I see in people when they start see the results of their efforts. Because I believe massage therapy helps to treat the body as well as the mind- it is always important to me to create a positive and supportive environment in which every one of my clients can feel comfortable and supported.

Allie graduated from the Massage Therapy Program with Honours from Georgian College in 2016, and have been practicing since January 2017. I am Registered and in Good Standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, and a member of the Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario.
When a client comes into the clinic I rely on doing a thorough assessment to determine the route of the problem, and working with the client to get the best results out of their treatment. I really enjoy working with and learning about the human body, since I began practicing, I have taken extra courses to gain more information and to be able to offer more to my clients.

Allie believes that it is very important to expand on the benefits from a treatment by giving remedial exercise to my clients (eg. mobility and strength exercises at home). As a Certified Personal Trainer and an RMT, she has a good knowledge base about how the body works and what can help an issue with the body. Treatments are great but we will not get the best benefits if there is no improvement being made at home. Lets work on you together! Your body is meant to move, and therefore you will have better results when there is movement involved in your treatment. Motion is lotion after all!
